Marathon Runners Biomechanics

PhD_TaniaSoares_logo

Marathoners acute biomechanical changes under different shoes and barefoot.

This research is being conducted in adult marathon runners, with a competition time under 3h15m. Its purpose is to study the acute biomechanics effects on the running pattern, ground reaction forces, muscle activity changes and pressure distribution on the foot when running at their competing velocity.
These parameters are being recorded with the runner in three different scenarios: using conventional running shoes, using the minimalist fivefingers shoe, and barefoot.
